The "Toys for the North" Toy Drive began in 2010 as a partnership between the Santa Claus Parade, the Canadian Toy Association, The Toronto Zoo and the R.C.M.P. Together we identified a huge need for holiday and Christmas toys for Canadian children in the most remote, far north communities in Nunavut, Yukon and Northwest Territories.

Last December $50,000 worth of toys from Canadian toy companies, plus toys donated by the public were wrapped up and delivered by the R.C.M.P to nearly 12,000 happy children.

To coordinate and help make this magic happen were our incredible sponsors from Thomson Terminals, First Air Freight, Duracell, and volunteers from the Santa Claus Parade.

In 2011, we hope to expand the "Toys for the North" program with even more donations from the Canadian Toy Association and its members and from Canadian families everywhere. Together we can help grow this great program.

You can help make memories for kids in the Canadian Territories by supporting Santa's Toys for the North. On the morning of Parade Day, bring a toy to the CHFI booth at the Royal Ontario Museum (Bloor St side). All gifts will be collected by the RCMP and delivered to the north by Christmas day.
